Let's clear up some confusion.

I mentioned in my last post that I was born in Saginaw, MI. But I don't live there. When Amelia put me in the car to take me to my new home, we were in there for a couple of hours-- long enough for me to take a pretty solid nap.

I live in Grosse Pointe Park, MI.

But Amelia has lotsa friends in Saginaw. And one of them sent her a text message last night asking a question that I think I should answer here: "Since he's a MeLCat, does that mean you have to send him back to Saginaw in 2 weeks?"

No. Why not? Because I'm a ~for realz~ MeLCat, which means that like other cats, I don't like car rides. :-/

I am, however, available to chat via Skype. I've met two people this way already: Amelia's friend Angela in Bay City, MI, and her friend Sarah in Stillwater, OK. So let me know if you're interested in that.

I've gotta live up to my name somehow, I guess.

MeLCat starts a blog.

Hi, Internet!

Because I'm a kitten, I have a lot of free time. When I'm not napping or eating, I'm just learning rules (I live with humans, so they have rules). And that's boring. So I decided to take up a hobby: blogging. This is where I can talk shit about them and their rules.

AND MAKE MY OWN RULES.

Anyway. My name is Mel. As the little intro blurb at the top of this page, explains, I was named after the Michigan Electronic Library Catalog, or MeLCat. I don't really know what that means, but Amelia (the lady who adopted me) thinks it's hilarious, and her sister Paige thinks it's stupid.

I was born in Saginaw, Michigan on June 30, 2011. I had ear mites and then the vet got rid of them, so now the bugs that live in my ears are dead instead of alive. I'm actually a little bit sad about that because I like to chase bugs and kill them, and the vet didn't give me a chance to show off my skillz. :-/

This past Saturday, I was napping per usual. And I woke up in this place with lots of dogs. And random people kept picking me up and holding me; they wouldn't let me sleep. :-(

And then this lady in a Janis Joplin shirt walked in and picked me up and took me home with her. Her name is Amelia. I've only been hanging out with her for two days, so I don't know a whole lot about her. But judging by her shirt, she has good taste in music. Also, her toes are really delicious. She must think so too, because she keeps telling me to stop biting them. She wants them all to herself, I guess.

She also lives with three other people: her parents, sister, and a grown up cat named Lucy. I want to be everyone's friend but Amelia is selfish and wants me all to herself.

I figure the more friends I make, the more toes I get to eat.

I'm really sleepy, so it's naptime. And then maybe I will talk someone into feeding me dinner. Or someone who lives in this house will find this blog and realize that I would like some dinner.
